Hopefully the response will be better now that blogspot is more popular.

A tip about Electropolishing:
If your electropolishing work is coming out dull - there could be numerous problems. However, the two problems that occur most frequently are you have poor anode to cathode ratio. The other most common problem is the metal itself. Sometimes we switch our metal suppliers to save money and find out after the fact, that the metal does not have the same make up as the previous material we were EPing. If you think this could be your problem - contact us. We can test samples for you.

Good Morning Electropolishers!!!
We've got exciting news. We will be having another Electropolish Seminar on August 21st and 22nd. This is a great seminar for those of you looking to start electropolishing or for those who already electropolish but may be having problems. It is also a good refresher course for those of you who have been doing it a long time.
This is the only seminar we will be having this summer - so take advantage. The next one will probably be late fall - early winter - and honestly, who wants to come to Wisconsin then??

Hello all - sorry it has been so long since I've posted. It's been very busy here and because I do not have someone here to remind me to do this blog, I tend to forget. Maybe I should put a sticky note on my computer monitor!
Anyway - the seminar went wonderful and I think everyone that came went away with a LOT more knowledge of electropolishing then they had before they attended.
On to bigger and better things... a tip.
Do your electropolish parts come out with an orange peel appearance? There are a few reasons this problem could occur, one of which could be you have too high amperage without enough dissolved metal in the bath. To remedy this lower your amperage and bring it back up gradually.
If this is a problem or you are having any other problem with your electropolish bath, feel free to give us a call.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We have set the date for our next Electropolishing Seminar. It's been very busy here with the holidays, but we are off to a fresh new start this year! Now that the holidays are over, I hope to get back to my regular postings - every Tuesday. There isn't a whole lot new at Electro Polish Systems, however in Wisconsin we finally got some snow. Haven't seen any of that since December 1st!! I didn't miss it one bit!! Once the new year starts, I consider winter almost over and I am ready for spring! Speaking of Spring, that is when our next seminar will be. We haven't officially set a date, but if you are interested - please shoot me an email.
How about a tip? - even though its Wednesday.
If your bath temperature raises excessively you may have too little solution volume for the size of your rectifier. To remedy this, you may need to cut down the volume of work to reduce amperage.

I missed last week!! With Thanksgiving and everything going on, posting a blog just slipped my mind. I want to remind everyone that we still do have openings for our Seminar on Dec. 5th & 6th. Please feel free to contact me for info and arrangements - 1-800-959-0868. Now time for the tip:
Two Electropolish baths instead of one work better and save solution because one bath can be used for deburring and smoothening (macropolishing), the other for brightness (micropolishing). The Macropolish bath can be run much higher in metal content.

I know today is Wednesday - I forgot to post a tip yesterday.
Today my tip is about Electro Polish Systems, Inc. I almost forgot to post a tip today. When electropolishing, if the parts on the top of your rack are coming out good, but the parts on the bottom of the rack are not - your problem could be temperature stratification. The remedy for this is to mix the solution in your tank - heat rises to the top half of the tank leaving the bottom half cooler.

Well, it's that time again - Tip Tuesday. I should probably be thankful for the cloudy skies and cold temperatures today - because tomorrow they are calling for snow??? Snow - they've got to be kidding. So in light of colder temperatures, I figure my tip should have something to do with weather changes... now let's see, a tip on electropolish and weather - how could the two possibly be related? Specific gravity of your electropolish bath plays an important role in your baths performance. Specific gravity changes constantly based on the amount of water in your bath. Your bath can pick up moisture from the atmosphere, change your specific gravity, therefore cause pitting in your parts.

Well, it is Tuesday again, which means I have to come up with a tip. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to post them. Todays tip is about pitting. There can be many, many problems that cause pitting and it seems to be the biggest problem when electropolishing. One of the causes for pitting is too low water. The pits are in bright star shapes, known as phosphoric pits. To remedy this, you may just need to add water to your bath.

Since this is our first week of blogging, I am trying to come up with different things to post, of course pertaining to electropolishing. We look forward to doing it again.
