If you are racking your parts and those on top are turning out good but the ones on the bottom are not you may be experiencing temperature stratification. To resolve this, mix the solution in your tank, heat naturally rises so the top half of your tank is warmer then the bottom. Another cause could be that your rack is not distributing the current uniformly. You may need a new rack or repair the one you are currently using.

Hello Again!
It's been a while since I blogged about electropolishing... so I am going to try this again. Hopefully the response will be better now that blogspot is more popular.

A tip about Electropolishing:
If your electropolishing work is coming out dull - there could be numerous problems. However, the two problems that occur most frequently are you have poor anode to cathode ratio. The other most common problem is the metal itself. Sometimes we switch our metal suppliers to save money and find out after the fact, that the metal does not have the same make up as the previous material we were EPing. If you think this could be your problem - contact us. We can test samples for you.

Good Morning Electropolishers!!!
We've got exciting news. We will be having another Electropolish Seminar on August 21st and 22nd. This is a great seminar for those of you looking to start electropolishing or for those who already electropolish but may be having problems. It is also a good refresher course for those of you who have been doing it a long time.
This is the only seminar we will be having this summer - so take advantage. The next one will probably be late fall - early winter - and honestly, who wants to come to Wisconsin then??

Hello all - sorry it has been so long since I've posted. It's been very busy here and because I do not have someone here to remind me to do this blog, I tend to forget. Maybe I should put a sticky note on my computer monitor!
Anyway - the seminar went wonderful and I think everyone that came went away with a LOT more knowledge of electropolishing then they had before they attended.
On to bigger and better things... a tip.
Do your electropolish parts come out with an orange peel appearance? There are a few reasons this problem could occur, one of which could be you have too high amperage without enough dissolved metal in the bath. To remedy this lower your amperage and bring it back up gradually.
If this is a problem or you are having any other problem with your electropolish bath, feel free to give us a call.

The first day of February - and we are in for some cold weather this weekend. Our first real artic blast. I would assume we will break some sort of record with -10 degrees at night.
Well EPS is planning another seminar in March. We haven't set the exact date but more then likely it will be a Tuesday-Wednesday. We've already had a lot of interest in this next seminar, so please email me if you would like to be included when more information becomes available.
If your electropolish work is coming out pebbly or has an uneven finish, there are a few things that could be wrong. One possiblility is that you have too much water in your bath. Check your specific gravity, and evaporate water if needed. If this doesn't rectify the problem, give us a call.

Well Happy New Year - even if I am 17 days late. It's been very busy here with the holidays, but we are off to a fresh new start this year! Now that the holidays are over, I hope to get back to my regular postings - every Tuesday. There isn't a whole lot new at Electro Polish Systems, however in Wisconsin we finally got some snow. Haven't seen any of that since December 1st!! I didn't miss it one bit!! Once the new year starts, I consider winter almost over and I am ready for spring! Speaking of Spring, that is when our next seminar will be. We haven't officially set a date, but if you are interested - please shoot me an email.
How about a tip? - even though its Wednesday.
If your bath temperature raises excessively you may have too little solution volume for the size of your rectifier. To remedy this, you may need to cut down the volume of work to reduce amperage.
